In Berlin and in Vienna he learnt The Technique of Traditional Paintings of the Old Masters

Eggtempera and Oillasurtechnique, which allows a fine and detail natural painting.

Since 1986 he is painting with Acrylics. Acrylic allow for a faster drying time decreasing the amount of time needed to complete a painting. Studying the techniques of the old masters has helped him very much when using the acryl colours in their transperent and illuminating quality.

In order to enhance his talents, he travelled extensively to many countries, after he finished his studies.

One such trip included an overland journey to India via Turkey, Iran , Afghanistan and Pakistan.

In 1975 he travelled in Africa from D.R. Congo (Zaire) to Sudan and then Egypt. His intensive study and experiences of different cultures during his travels was transformed onto canvas and carton through his paint brushes.

In between travelling he lived in Austria and on the Canary Islands (Spain) where he had time to reflect on his travel experiences and to develop his skills.

1989-91 he travelled and lived in South America spending most of his time in Brazil

Since 1978 he has worked as a professional artist. During this time he has held many expositions in Germany as well as in Austria, Spain and Brazil. For the last twelve years he has lived in North Germany.
